DACE – Dance Art Critical Ecology is a learning site that invites exploration of dance and art within more-than-human worlds. Initiated in 2019 by Rickard Borgström and Rebecca Chentinell, we focus on how the body is entangled with and interrelates to the biosphere. This perspective challenges conventional ways of creating and organizing art and influences how we choose to live, encouraging practices that reflect the intricate relationships between humans and the natural world. We trace new sensitivities and connections between humans, technology, and nature, seeking to expand aesthetic and ethical frameworks in an era defined by human impact on the planet. Consequently, we collaborate with artists responding to rapid technological, environmental, and political shifts, as well as those curious about how bodily approaches can reshape action, thinking, and artistic practice.
